The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
